As the Mid-Autumn Festival approached, our university's Office of International Cooperation and Exchange successfully held a cultural experience event for international students titled Reunion Under the Full Moon on the afternoon of September 29 in Room 328 of the Administration Building.

The event began with an engaging cultural lecture delivered by Ms. Min Rong, who provided the international students with a detailed explanation of the festival's significance to the Chinese people. Her presentation covered the origin of the festival's name, the tradition of eating mooncakes, and the mythological stories behind the celebration. To make the session more interactive, she also arranged a fun riddle-guessing activity and led all the students in a choral recitation of Li Bai's classic poem Thoughts on a Tranquil Night. Through their recitation, the students were able to truly appreciate the profound emotion conveyed by traditional Chinese culture. The atmosphere was lively and filled with laughter, and the event was warmly received by all participants.

One of the event's highlights was a performance by Ayanna from Barbados, who sang the Chinese pop hit Everlasting Love. She took the stage with confidence and composure, delivering the song's emotional resonance through her flawless Mandarin pronunciation and gentle, melodious voice. Her performance drew warm applause from the teachers and students in attendance, creating a wonderfully vibrant atmosphere throughout the event.

The much-anticipated lantern-making session was filled with warmth and creativity. Under the attentive guidance of teachers from the International Office, international students tapped into their imagination and diligently crafted their Mid-Autumn Festival lanterns. At the end of the activity, the students proudly held up their creations, their faces beaming with joy. Jarad from Barbados exclaimed with excitement, I'm going to take this Jade Rabbit lantern home with me—it is the most special souvenir I have from China.

This Mid-Autumn Festival special event not only planted the seeds of traditional Chinese culture deep in the hearts of international students, but also vividly demonstrated our university's open and inclusive campus atmosphere, as well as the fruitful outcomes of its international exchange and cooperation efforts.
