On the morning of September 4, the International College held the Opening Ceremony and Safety Education Session for new international students in Classroom 328 of the Administration Building. The event was attended by Huang Xing, Assistant to the President and Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange; Lu Huixing, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange; Pan Ting, Deputy Captain of the Exit and Entry Administration Brigade of the Suzhou New District Public Security Bureau; Police Officer Tang Weiqiang; and both new and returning international students.

At the ceremony, Huang Xing extended a warm welcome on behalf of the university to all new international students, expressing his best wishes for their health, academic progress, and overall well-being during their studies at the university.

Following the welcome address, Captain Pan Ting delivered a safety education lecture. He introduced the relevant provisions of the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China, helping students gain a clearer understanding of the legal requirements they must observe during their stay and studies in China. Drawing on real-life cases, he also provided detailed guidance on how to prevent telecom fraud and other types of crimes, teaching students to identify common scams and enhance their safety awareness to protect both their personal safety and property. Captain Pan further reminded students to take precautions against fire and theft, exercise caution when traveling, and outlined effective response strategies for emergency situations.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, during which Captain Pan addressed questions raised by the international students. The event served as both a formal welcome to the university community and a vital step in equipping students with the knowledge and awareness needed for a safe and successful stay in China.
