To broaden the cultural horizons of international students and help them gain an in-depth appreciation of Suzhou’s intangible cultural heritage, the International College organized a Taohuawu woodblock New Year print experience activity for international students on the morning of May 11 at the Suzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Center.

During the event, the international students listened to an introduction covering the historical development, carving techniques, printing processes, and cultural value of woodblock New Year prints. Following demonstrations by professional instructors, they selected template boards and completed the steps of coloring, pasting, kneading, and pressing to produce their own prints.

Seeing the beautiful New Year prints they had made with their own hands, the international students were all exceptionally excited.
